Try Polish fruit-infusions and Georgian cuisine - and definitely do not miss out on cinematic highlights.
Dear all,
as the days finally get warmer and sunnier, I start craving community, meeting new people and experiencing culture together. Do you feel the same way? This issue actually offers multiple events that are great to develop new connections:
🍷Infusion Tasting Night
🎞️ Film & Cinema: SLOW & wave vs. shore
🎈Cultural Festival Belarus Focus
🍽️ Restaurant of the month: TSOMI
So, let’s dive right in!
🍷 INFUSION TASTING EVENT - EMIGRE SPIRITS
Have you already heard of the new liqueur brand in town? EMIGRE SPIRITS - Slavic-inspired fruit-alcohol infusions made in Berlin. A project, that is dedicated to the fusion of flavours and cultures based on experience of emigration. I kept wondering, why nobody in Berlin offered anything comparable to the Pijana Wisnia experience - and here we finally are. Zibi founded the company behind the tasty drinks based on Polish recipes. He regularly hosts tasting nights, including Slavic tapas, toasts, kind people and good conversations around a common dinner table. Next tasting night: 22th of March. Make sure to book your seat via Instagram! I’ll be there, what about you?

🎞️ FILM & CINEMA
SLOW (dir. Marija Kavtaradze)
In SLOW, a Lithuanian production, the dance teacher Elena and the deaf teenager interpreter Dovydas meet. Despite their different worlds, a romantic relationship develops between them. When Elena seeks physical closeness, Dovydas confesses that he is asexual. Nevertheless, they search together for a form of intimacy that works for both of them. The film sensitively explores the themes of asexuality and respect in a relationship and has won awards for its directing, as well as being submitted as the Lithuanian entry for the Oscar. It will be screened daily in Kino Krokodil from 21st to 30th of March.

vlna vs. břeh / wave vs. shore (dir. Martin Štrba)
World-famous Slovak photographers prepare a joint exhibition and recall the eventful years of their artistic beginnings. The film is a creative portrait of impressive artistic personalities and at the same time an exciting contemporary document. Kunstverein OST is organizing the film evening and invites you to a nice get-together with snacks and cold drinks. Registration under: post@kvost.de.

At the Georgian restaurant Tsomi in Prenzlauer Berg, Europe and Asia converge - a culinary delight featuring dishes like Khachapuri, Khinkali, and Chakhokhbili. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Berlin.
