KASUTEIRA: Ukrainian Matcha Pop Up
A Ukrainian Original: Dasha expanded her Kyiv-based business Kasuteira to Berlin a couple of years ago and now provides spaces such as Matcha Some and Voo Store with her delicious Matcha-based pastries. In Kashtan, a booth in Markthalle 9 presenting different Ukrainian small businesses, she will have a Pop Up serving matcha and her pastries - stop by and try a “greenie” (Matcha-version of a brownie 🥹)

Kulturzug goes Warszawa!
Our beloved Kulturzug - a train connecting Berlin and Wrocław, while offering a cultural program on board - is heading towards a new and exciting destination: WARSZAWA! The pilot runs will take place during the week f 11th to 16th of February. What to expect? Concerts, readings, talks and performances.
Read more and get your ticket here!
Side note: I am still deeply fascinated by the idea of transforming a train journey into a cultural experience. Enhancing transportation with an intercultural program not only moves people physically but also brings cultures closer together, turning mobility into exchange. I am in love <3

Schall & Rausch: GAIA 24 Play
A musical performance as part of the Schall & Rausch Festival, that deals with the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine through electric guitar, folklore and techno (how to not be curious about such a combination?). What is war doing to nature? How can we develop an awareness of our global togetherness through and across different music genres?

75. Berlinale (13.-23.02.)
Starting on Feb 13th, one of Europe's most prestigious and renowned film festivals, is taking over the Berlin screens. What sets Berlinale apart is its inclusivity, allowing film enthusiasts and professionals of all career stages to attend screenings and events, a feature that distinguishes it from exclusive festivals like the Cannes Film Festival.
I will publish a detailed guide to this year’s Berlinale soon!
For now: 3 films to look forward to:
2024: People are protesting on the streets of Tbilisi against the so-called “foreign agents” law. Including Tina, Luka, director Tiku and friends. Their resistance is their way of being there for each other - to take courage for what is yet to come. If you’d like to learn more about the current political situation in Georgia and the protests of civil society, join our event this afternoon!
When Russian troops occupy the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Chornobyl, they are recorded by surveillance cameras. Special Operation is based on these recordings, which were made at the scene of the worst nuclear disaster in history.
The rumors of an impending third world war are of little interest to Fedor, 25: he wants to form a band and write songs. But he needs his lucky sweater. Tragicomedy meets mythology, humor meets horror.
Rumor has it, that your fav CEE & film enthusiast will moderate a screening of this film - stay tuned :)
Dinner Social Club - Mandu of Identity
Mandu are for sure not East European BUT just as tasty and I know you love dumplings, so I am bringing to your awareness this “playful trans-disciplinary dinner experience exploring and celebrating the diversity of identities and traditions. Through the symbolic act of making Mandu (Korean dumplings), we’ll explore how our unique experiences and roles come together to shape who we are.”
